The prominent Greek philosopher Aristotle says “The whole is more important than the sum of its part” which prongs to the study of logics and mathematics. Science is the ‘body of knowledge’ and acquiring new knowledge. Technology is a combination of two Greek words –‘tech’ meaning craft or skill and ‘logo’ mean to speak of.
Science and technology has become an integral and constitutive part of everyday’s life. Where science is concerned with ‘how’ and ‘why’ things happen, technology focuses on making things happen. Science and technology are an unavoided compliment to each other. Access to the fortunate inventions are intrinsic to a high quality of life. Technological advancement has placed an important factor in increasing the growth rate of economy at macro levels and market shares and profits of firms at micro levels also enabling globalization.
Science as well as technology has creditably contributed significant improvements in the area of medicine, communication, travel, human living and education. It has given an effectual contribution towards mechanization of human life. PARAM – India’s first ever indigenous supercomputer was a major milestone in modern India’s technological journey. ISRO launched the country’s heaviest rocket GSLV-MK III, who cryogenic engine was developed indigenously. Modern science has been considered a boon for mankind because it has opened our eyes and has removed the darkness of ignorance which always led us on the wrong path.
